"After having made a purchase of one I had to return it as there was no sound on playback. Good returns service from Argos. I went to another store to source this model and have been unable to find any fault with its operation or pricing. The EPG is clear and easy to follow and asks if you want HD quality when available. Replay is good as original broadcast. No wonder this model was in short supply.!!"

"The recordings were so bad immediately that I had to contact the help desk.
there was nothing I could do to improve it so I took their recommendation to replace it with an upgraded Bush model which,so far,is excellent"

"Great price at the time. Does what it is supposed to. I found it easy to set up and use. Gives good picture (especially with HD of course). Some noise from the box (hard drive?) when the sound is off. I guess sometime I will need some way of archiving and restoring. I recommended it to a neighbour (to replace their now obsolete record to VHS capability) but they found it confusing partly because of the resulting multiple input set up (VHS player,DVD player, box, in built tuner in TV) to their TV;partly because of the technospeak approach of this box (timers, events etc) and partly because every device including this one just has so many different functions, options and capabilities these days. Anyone more savvy to modern tech will be fine. Series record only works from EPG selection not from record button which confused me to begin with. Deals with programmes split across news bulletins very well. Nice standby/wake up features. Warns you of "timer conflict" if you try to plan a third simultaneous recording and lets you choose which to delete. (but thats also an example of "technospeak", why not say "you are trying to record too many programs dummy"?"

"At first, at thought my TV was going chips, but no! This machine is the biggest waste of money ever. I am so disappointed, I have had BUSH before and it was brilliant. Does not always record when it should, series recording sometimes works and sometimes not, my TV keeps getting black and white stripes down it (I have to turn TV off to fix) or it gets a large black stripe down the left hand side. I know its not the TV as have used another box on it since and I have had no problems. Apart from that, the features are not too good. When you have watched a recording it just goes straight back to the top of your list and also does not show you which recordings you have actually watched. I am returning this machine today, its really the worst buy ever. Oh, but it is easy to set up!!"
