"I bought this to replace a stopped-working Navman. The Mio is essentially an upgrade with more modern features, and traffic alerts built in. It is an improvement in many ways : the 5" screen is nice & clear, the lane guidance is very helpful , though this is only available on motorways - a limitation not mentioned in the advertising. It's quick to acquire a GPS fix, and will even do so inside my living room. Some disappointments : this kit is not compatible with Mac computers - again, not mentioned in the advertising. I'm tempted to return it for this reason alone; there is only one voice choice; the GPS accuracy is not great - it will "place" you on the motorway if you're actually on a slip road. It needs more screen taps to cancel a route than the old Navman. Overall, a mixed bag I have to say - the Mio's not bad, but could be better. Do your research and select carefully .. there are a lot of alternatives to choose from."

"Most of the things on offer where good big screen was very usefull, but could not get it to connect to the web using my Orange mobile. Spoke to Mia and told speak to Orange, and Orange said speak to Mio. So no help there, so returned and got a Tomtom locked on to web it's self within minutes."

"Journey details start with map showing route and choices listed down the side. They include shortest, most economical, easiest etc:
Found it fairly easy to use [I have difficulty with this type of technology] and the voice isn't too bossy. But, it still tells you to make a right or left turn at most sharp bends. I think this is usualy at change in the road name. Very clear and precise and accurate."
