LEGO® Architecture Sydney Opera House - 21012. 4.4 5 10 10
Fantastic I own (I think) every LEGO architecture released, and this is probably tied with the Leaning Tower of Pisa in terms of the sheer creativity that the designers employed. I'm shocked that so much detail in terms of curves and angles are incorporated in this model given its small size. It's obviously a pretty unique structure, but to capture it so accurately and elegantly with (relatively) few pieces is a true work of art. I enjoy both owning this piece to look at it as well as owning it as a great example of what can be accomplished within the LEGO medium with a bit of creativity and a small number of tools. That's the whole idea, right? To see how you can defy the conventions of the brick system and make something that appears truly novel and organic? The designers nailed it on this one. Very impressive. 13 October 2014
5th Architecture Model As expected enjoyment was had building this model. It took about an hour to build and the instructions are well planned out and easy for all ages to follow. The only issue that was had with this particular model was with the curved shells pieces that go on the top; they keep popping off especially when they were touched so after several attempts at putting them on without touching any other piece the curved shell sections have stayed on and it has now put it on show with the rest of the LEGO models we own. 21 July 2014
Sydney Opera House delight! This is my 5th Model of the fantastic Lego Architecture range. Lets say I wasn't disappointed! As usual, the base has the striking shiny black edging with name plate. This took about an hour to build and was a little tricky in constructing the shell shaped roof pieces and clipping them onto the main building. The finished article, although smaller than anticipated looks great. Sat neatly with the rest of my Architecture range slowly growing in size. On to my next project, The Eiffel Tower! 04 June 2014
It is truly an amazing set I did think it would be bigger though. 19 March 2014
AS IF I COULD ACTUALLY HEAR THE OPERA When it comes to building this wonderful piece, it's rather easy. You do have to double check to make sure the roof piece are facing the correct way because if it isn't an actual representation of the real building, it is NOTHING AT ALL. Good piece, looks dope on my shelf, and is priced very reasonably. I cannot wait to one day visit Australia, I plan on honeymooning there. 26 February 2014
