good starter machine

"As a first timer I found this machine really easy to understand and use. The instructions manual clearly explains how to set it up step by step. I've only had it 2 weeks but have already made great curtains on it. My only reservation would be that after one week it suddenly stopped working. On calling the Singer helpline they instructed me to take it back to Argos who would send it to their repair service, as per guarantee. Unfortunately Argos said they did not make repairs for this particular model, although they do repair other Singer machines they sell, and suggested in future I deal directly with Singer. I found this to be a strange policy which caused me some inconvenience, but Argos were happy to supply me with a brand new machine at that stage so I left the shop a happy customer. I'm hoping there are no issues beyond the 30 day returns policy."

"Very fiddly to get bobbin in under the needle at first but once you know how (thus took me a while as I'm a beginner and the instructions are VERY basic) its a great machine and I've already made a single bed quilt! There Re better instructions on singers website. Very light weight I did lots of research and am very happy with this machine which I've used everyday for over a week solid."

"Great , smooth, good quality machine.
Couple of the threading parts make it slightly fiddly, also the embroidery feature does not work without the foot on and darning plate attached like I was told. Whole reason I bought the machine, Sure it will be fine when I buy an embroidery foot, although quite hard to source what I need. Amazing price, good all rounder. happy bunny."
