Philips SC2003 Lumea Precision IPL Body & Face Hair Removal. 4.2 5 39 39
Works Really Well! I bought my IPL over a year ago, used it as instructed and it works well. I am dark blonde with fairish skin but i do eventually tan. I have very hairy legs and underarms with around 3 hairs per follicle. I must admit i was not expecting any results with an IPL System but was pleasantly surprised! I do have to use it every two weeks on my underarms or they start to grow back but my bikini line and legs are once a month. I also use to get really bad ingrowing hairs around my bikini line but that is now a thing of the past. IPL is completely painless compared to waxing and epilating, which have been my previous hair removal methods in the past. My friend is also paying a small fortune by going to a beauty saloon to have the same treatment done professionally, over the year we have been comparing results between us and there has hardly been any difference in hair growth, just that hers has now cost her more. My only tiny moan is the rechargeable battery, it does not seem to last that long, then my IPL would not charge after a year (maybe by battery was not good from the start), but Phillips where amazing and totally honored their two year guarantee and changed it immediately, due to their great customer care i will probably only buy Phillips products from now on! Thank you Phillips and do not just think about it give one a try!!! 04 April 2014
easy to use Easy to use, only used once so far, too early to know how effective it will be, but have high hopes for it based on other reviews 04 March 2014
LOVE LOVE LOVE...turned my life around As a young woman, I have struggled with excess hair growth for most of my adult life and after shaving and hair removal creams left my hair growing back thicker and more course than ever, I decided to try a more permanent alternative. I purchased the Philips Lumea a week before Christmas and have used as instructed every 2 weeks since, with dramatic results. After just 2 applications to my chest and facial areas, the hair has completely stopped re-growing. After 4 applications to my legs, 90% of the hair has been removed. My hair is very dark and my skin very pale, so I was the perfect candidate for this machine. I have used this on a number 4 setting and it can sometimes sting when in use, but for me this was momentary and I didn't suffer from any redness or soreness afterwards. I couldn't recommend this enough. Although it is pricey, it's a drop in the ocean compared to the confidence I have regained. VERY HAPPY LADY :):):):):):) 08 February 2014
Male chest hair removal As a 47 year old I decided that it was time to get rid of the mass of chest hair that I had got and had become a mix of grey and black hair (getting more grey!). Initially I tried shaving my upper chest but was surprised at just how quick the stubble formed. I then tried using the hair reduction serum, which really did nothing. I then tried Nads for Men but within about 1 minute felt a very sore reaction starting and had to remove it quickly. Finally I decided to take the risk and try the Lumea. First of all this is not completely pain free - certainly after using it I get a few hours of soreness, not bad but noticeable. After using this for 2 sessions I had to stop shaving for a couple of weeks and the re-growth was significantly less than before I started using the Lumea. In some areas I had no hair, others had much lower growth than before. The results are a bit patchy but I guess that I'll just concentrate on these in future sessions. I did find that if I shave and let the hair re-grow for a day then the unit seemed more effective so this might be worth trying if you are not getting anywhere. Overall this has worked very well (for me!) and is the only solution that I have tried that has achieved anything. It's far less time consuming than other methods and I think with a few more treatments I'll be able to get hair-free. 15 November 2013
Great product does what it says Did lots of research. This one appeared to be the best, have not been disappointed. It definitely works but you do have to follow the regime. Results are not instant but each time I use it I have to do less and less. It works for me and I think it is worth the investment. 12 November 2013

Guarantee and money back

1 week, 6 days ago
Hi there,
I have light brown skin and dark black hair, and I'm Indian. Will the Philips Lumea work for me?
If I do buy it and it doesn't work for me, will I be able return it and get my money back under the two year guarantee?
thanks

Answer:
Hi, thank you for your question.

This Philips Lumea Precision IPL Hair Removal System uses a contrast in the hair and skin to work, so would work on dark hair and pale skin. It is ultimately down to the colour of skin and hair in the area of use. The item is exempt from our 30 day money back guarantee so you could only return it if it is faulty, not because it is not what you wanted. You can check the product in store before your purchase.

Thank you for using Argos Q&A.

Can I continue shaving?

3 weeks, 2 days ago
I usually shave my underarms everyday. After I have used the laser for the first time, can I continue shaving or do I have to wait until the next laser treatment before I can shave again?

Answer:
Hello,

Yes, as long as the hair follicle below the surface is in tact (so no waxing) you can continue to shave as much was you want in between treatments of the Philips SC2003 Lumea.

I hope this helps.

Answer:
One treatment is less than 300 flashes.
100.000 flashes / 300 flashes = 333 treatments
One treatment per 2 weeks give you roughly 13 years of use.
Using less than once every 2 weeks extend it's life.
Does it make sense?

Hello,

There are no replacement bulbs for the Philips SC2003 Lumea Precision IPL Body & Face Hair Removal, so once its 100,000 flash lifetime has come to an end, you will need to purchase a new product.

I hope this helps.
