worth it's weight and worth the wait

"I had been pondering over this shaver for several months but was put off by the ridiculous price .....so, as soon as Argos dropped the price by a whopping £100 I bought one.
To sum up it was definitely worth the wait !
It gives a very close shave, is quite heavy giving it a solid feel and virtually no vibration whilst also being comfortable to hold. unlike some reviewers it is in fact very quiet in use - a mere hum.
Most importantly it catches all the hairs that grow in the "wrong" direction - in my case just under the chin line.
The clean & renew system works well leaving a fresh smelling and fully charged shaver although it has to be said that you won't be too popular if you start it late at night - the case does amplify the noise of the motor and, although not THAT loud it can go on for quite a while (15 mins or so).
Otherwise no problems so far.
If I had to make one complaint it would be as other people have poointed out that there is no foil guard supplied or, in fact available......why not ???"

"I've owned a Braun 7 series shaver for the last 15 years and always considered it to be the best shaver I had ever had. However, the old one was starting to misbehave so I decided to change it. The price of the new one seemed a bit high but at the age of 65 I thought I was worth it. Wow! what a treat it is. It's even better than the old series 7 which I considered to be the best shaver ever. The changes between sensitive through to intensive seems to work well and the indicator light changes to let you know which mode it's in.
Drawbacks, as previous reviews have mentioned the cleaning cycle is a bit noise but nothing too serious and the carrying case does not have room for the charging cord when travelling but these are mere details and do not detract from the main purpose of the 790: the best shave ever. I'm very pleased with the purchase."

Very Surprised

"After wet shaving for over 30 years I did not think an electric shaver could compete, however after using the Braun 790 my view has changed completely. This shaver leaves my face smoother than any wet shave has ever done, just give the Braun (and face) about 7 to ten days to settle in and then you are away.
The Shaver is comfortable to use and feels good in the hand with all controls easy to use. I am not happy with the flip out side trimmer as it is not much use in practise but as the shaver has a locking function for the head the side trimmer is not really needed. The cleaning station works well but the fluids are too expensive. If it was not for the costly fluids the shaver would get top marks."
