"I bought the lamp for my elderly mother, but returned it after a few days because the lamp part kept dropping down. It seemed to me to be a design flaw, in that the lamp head is too heavy for the screw to hold it in position. A shame because the lamp is nice and bright."

You get what you pay for!

"What i like: Nice finish and the light bulb gives off a moderate coverage of my work desk although not as powerful as i'd hope, i can still work with only this lamp on in the room.
What i don't like: Huge waste to the environment, the base that comes with the lamp is a big hefty thing that I'll never use because i chose to use the supplied bracket that holds it onto the desk. The design is very bad if i'm honest, the lamp arm doesn't even lock into either base or the clamp, it simply slots in place without any lock leaving the lamp feeling really loose and clumsy. If you are thinking of buying a lamp that you can adjust frequently, pull and position... this IS NOT it. The arm mechanism is so bad that you have to keep screwing/ unscrewing the joints to get the position you want. However if like me, you just want it in one place all the time, then it works fine-ish.
It would have got only 1 star had i paid full price for it, but as Argos kindly gave me a voucher on a previous purchase, it was definately worth it."
