"by some of the other feedback, I nearly was. Felt sturdy and heavy as I took it out the box, fitted in base ok, haven't used clamp, and seems to stand well on desk.
This is a large lamp so not suitable for a small childs desk.
I have this on a desk that is tucked in a corner so it is quite dark and this lamp gives a lovely clear light all over the desktop area.
Far better lamp than I expected and at a good price compared with others."

"Good value as alternative to Anglepoise.
Ballast for the fluorescent tube is a little flickery and the lamp supplied is a 6500k 'daylight' and may need to be changed for 3000k 'warm white'"
