"I HAVE HAD TO TAKE THE KETTLE BACK 3 TIMES IN THE LAST 6 MONTHS,LOVELY LOOKING BUT THE PULL ON TOP OF THE LID KEEPS BREAKING OFF,BUT I HAD TO KEEP IT BECAUSE I PURCHASED THE MATCHING TOASTER,SO NOW I FILL IT FROM THE SPOUT AND DONT TOUCH THE LID."

Breville kettle

"So far so good ! Really smart,clean looking,this kettle was a replacement for the Delonghi Icona ,which i had to return twice,within 6 months ! so i have gone back to Breville which i have always found reliable ! It is a bit noisy on boiling,but i assume thats because its metal ? Nice to pour,but you do have to remove the lid for filling ( not hinged ) overall a nice kettle !"

"Looks good and is nice and simple. Quick to boil.
Metal kettle, so gets hot on outside. Noisy when boiling. Water level window not especially easy to see. Have to remove lid to fill."

"Good, but not as well designed as the matching toaster.
I love the look of it and the blue light which comes on when heating.
However, it does not pour as easily as my old kettle (all the water comes out in a controlled and safe manner eventually, if you keep tipping it further and further, so I't not all bad) and the water level indicator only shows from 3 to 8 cups. Great when you have friends round (I do have friends, honest) but not much good when you want to make yourself a mug of tea on your own."

I bought this kettle since it is predominantly all-metal construction (apart from a light, filter and pipe inside + window guage on the side). Sturdy and nice to handle with a look of quality.
However, it has no heat insulation so it is very loud on the boil. You'll need two hands to remove the lid and I've expereicned instances where it didn't switch off automatically (usually after immediate-repeat refil&boil) which is good for those of you after a make-shift steam-room."
