De'Longhi 2.4kW Ceramic Oscillating Tower Heater. 4.3 5 28 28
Very Powerful This heater gives out very strong heat, it's not weak in a large room at all. It also runs very quiet compared with other conventional fan heaters. A brilliant product, a must buy for those chilly winter evenings! 11 June 2014
Excellent heater fan Brought this to heat our downstairs hallway (town house) and it achieves this very well on the lowest setting with eco mode enabled. The features are great and it automatically switches on or off to regulate the room temperature. As for running costs - it's early days - but it would appear to be cheap to run (well, compared to firing up the central heating). 20 May 2014
heater bought this for the daughter same as my other review 14 May 2014
returned as defective Bought after reading reviews suggesting it is quiet and classy . ignored a couple of reviews suggesting that its thermostat cuts out without reason. Gave it several hours to work it's magic and convince me. Kept cutting out and restarting unpredictability, hence returned for refund. Another thing was that its touch sensitive buttons are not very reliable . I do not therefore recommend it . bought a Honeywell eco fan heater instead , half the cost and good reviews . 11 March 2014
GREAT FEATURES Reasonably quiet, easy to operate, remote useful, we use this as heater during the afternoon instead of putting the heating on for main sitting room, gets hot quickly , bit smelly at first as the ceramic "burns off", but oveall would recommend and would buy another as a fan in the summer. 25 February 2014

I would be grateful to know how much noise it makes as I would be buying for a setting that requires quietness - thanks

Answer:
There are three heat settings, low, medium and high, that's about it! But you can select the temperature you wish to heat up to and it cuts off when reaching said temperature, all by remote control. The temperature you wish to reach is selected in either Centigrade or Farenheit depending on your preference, I know the stat goes as high as 30 Centigrade but haven't turned it higher than that!!! It does belt out a lot of heat on the highest setting!

I am a student living in a student accommodation where we have fire detection devices in our rooms. I really need to get a heater but I heard from my friend that certain heater releases hot air that will triggers the fire alarm, especially those fan heaters. I am wondering how does this heater heats up and is it very noisy?

Answer:
Its a bit like a hair dryer in that the heat comes on instantly. It's not too loud even on the lower setting and can't imagine it triggering a fire alarm (certainly not a smoke alarm) as the heat blows out not up so spreads the heat evenly. It has a built in thermostat so can set and have it control the room temperature (not always on, just when it's needed) and three fan speeds.
Hope that helps.
