Challenge 2kW Convector Heater with Timer. 4.3 5 243 287
CHALLENGE 2KW CONVECTOR HEATER would recommend for smaller rooms but no use for larger rooms 01 April 2014
Disappointed Previous purchase lasted 3 years and did just what we wanted, so bought it again. But the all-important timer didn't work, so returned it. Same problem with the second one, so gave up and bought something different. Can't help thinking that quality control by Challenge should have prevented this! 18 March 2014
Great Buy Just what I needed...easy to use, different heat settings...warms the room up on 2kw then keeps it cosy on 750 setting. Very pleased..I have two of these. :0) 11 March 2014
Splendid good bargain ! 04 March 2014
IT DOES WHAT IS SAYS ON THE BOX ! We bought this heater for a large caravan that we use throughout the year and that includes winter. The timer works perfectly and can be set to come on and off several times so that was handy during a cold night when you don't want heat all the time but need the chill to be taken off intermittently. It is not bulky nor heavy so was ideal and it really does throw out the heat. Great value for money. Would highly recommend. 26 February 2014

Answer:
Sorry I don't know. The details as I bought it for my son s bedroom
He is delighted with, very efficient, gives him a background heat and has cured the damp in his wardrobe, also realistically priced. I would think it would be ideal for a caravan

I have rotated the dial to current time 7pm. And as per my requirement of heat, I have set the red teeth switched in front of time(each number). It doesn't work for me!! I tried setting the red teeths outwards and also inwards. Also, the slider is set to clock symbol and the heater is ON. No Luck!!

Please help!!!!!!!!!!

Answer:
After setting the fingers to the times you want, gently turn the timer dial a full circle in the direction that it turns normally (it should only turn in one direction). This allows the fingers to operate the switch properly. If you still get no heat, check the power supply

A lot of people make the mistake of setting the time first, then pressing the fingers in/out afterwards. With this kind of timer doing it this way usually means that the switch, that powers the device up, isn't activated

Answer:
Look at the extension lead youre using - it will say something like "max 720W fully wound, max 3150W fully unwound"

This is a 2000 watt heater; be safe and unwind your extension all the way otherwise it might well catch fire and burn your house down.

Don't coil the wire on top of itself after unwinding.

DON'T make your own extension lead out of a bit of wire - the fact that you even asked a question like this implies you haven't got the professional qualifications necessary. Safety first!

My son has a large spare bedroom (old building-high ceilings) with one radiator but damp becoming evident as room not used much...would this be cost effective to run on & off throughout the day or should they run it on low setting all day?
I don't want them to have a sharp rise in electricity costs as they're on a tight budget

Answer:
Depends on what their electricity prices are.. if it costs them 10p per kilowatt hour, this heater is 2 kilowatt then running it for an hour will cost 20p. If theyre on a deal where day electricity is 30p and night is 5p, then it costs 10p per hour at night and 60p during the day..

If on the low setting it uses 1 kilowatt, and on high it uses 2, and you configure the timer to have 15 mins on, 15 mins off, it costs the same to run because on average it's using 1 kilowatt in either usage pattern.
