Customer reviews and ratings

Argos Value Range 2kW Upright Fan Heater. 4.3 5 645 743
Basic feature of a fan heater The noise of the fan is too loud. And i can't set the temperature trigger even thought the product catalog got metioned about this function. It seems that the heater will be turn on all the times, unless someone manually turn it off. The heater cannot automatically trigger off when the temperature reach certain limit. 09 July 2014
Great value for money, exceede expectations! I was a bit suspicious about this heater due to a few negative reviews here but took a shot as Argos is quite good when it comes to offering refund if goods are faulty. This was in fact a great purchase! It has two settings: the high speed will easily keep a large room warm, mine is 7x7 metres! The low one is good when you want the area right next to you warm but won't keep the whole room warm. 08 July 2014
cheap and effective Handy little heater for price. Will use for camping. 08 July 2014
Brilliant for the money! Some of the reviews I'd read said that this was loud, difficult to use, so I bought this without high hoped. How wrong I was! Although this is a little loud, you can't hear it from the next room (meaning if you use it at night, you won't wake everyone up). The controls are simple to anyone who's ever been near an electric device (one knob for temperature, another for on/off for fan and heat). I highly recommend this for anyone who wants a cheap good fan! 08 July 2014
Does Exactly What It Says on the Box Very reasonable, very efficient and a very good safety feature with the cut out button. We bought it to keep us warm when our boiler broke down and after reading all the other fantastic reviews, we will be taking it camping with us as well! Loved the thermostat feature which meant it cut off when it reached the correct temperature and and switched itself back on when the temperature dropped. 17 June 2014

Am a bit confused about watts and amps. If we wanted to use this on cool setting only - will it still have the full 2k output, or is it lower on the cool setting. We will be on electric hook up in France where the ampage may be lower than here (3 or 6)

Answer:
On the cool setting the unit will only use the amount of electricity required to drive the fan motor which will simply act as a fan and blow out air which will appear cool. This will be much less than 2 Kilowatts. The 2 Kilowatts refers to the maximum amount of electricity ( volt x Amps ) that is used when the unit is in the maximum heating mode.
Hope this helps?

If it actively heats for 15 minutes of every hour used, will it still be using some electric when not heating? And what sort of amount of electric?

Answer:
Hi, thank you for your question.

The Argos Value Range 2kW Upright Fan Heater is 10p per Kwh. Your fire burns two of these per hour. So for 24 hours its £4.80(10 x 2 x 24). You will need to work this out on your current tarrif.

Thank you for using Argos Q&A.
