"Bought this with Dysons part-exchange deal. Swapped it for the DC001. The DC24 is much lighter, but the dust cylinder is much smaller and the hose a lot shorter. The "animal" name is a misnomer. It's the standard DC24 - you pay an extra £50 or so to have a turbo brush which fits on the hose so you can vac furniture and stairs. Presumably, if you lived in a bungalow, with leather furniture, the cheaper DC24 could still be classed as an "animal". Pity there's nowhere to store the turbo brush though."

"I just bought a Dyson DC24 ANIMAL the purple one! The trouble I had getting it you wouldn't believe but that's another story. However it was well worth it as it is fantastic I haven't had such clean carpets in ages and to be able to get around corners with such ease is amazing, the ball makes such a difference. The only thing I would mention is the chamber doesn't hold much rubbish it is a bit small but then I think maybe when you use a Dyson for the first time you do fill them up with all the rubbish your other Hoover has missed!!!!"
