"so crackly we were unable to hear. Was a birthday present for grandaughters so disappointed. Returned to store for refund"

"bought for 6 yr old daughter - was nearly put off by other reviews about bad reception. Luckily they worked v well - but a little noisy. Daughter amazed at being able to speak to me and her brother whilst in different rooms - a month later still a firm favourite toy"

"These walkie talkies are cheap, low quality items. I certainly wouldn't advise using them for anything where lives are at stake (the ambulance service for example, would do well to avoid a disney-princess cost-cutting exercise).
As children's toys however, they are great, the poor audio transmission doesn't matter, it is better than the cup-on-a-string I had when I was a kid and the range is good enough for them to be used around the house and garden (unlike the aforementioned cup on a string).
