"We purchased this after a lot of research, and was very pleased with the result. Very clear large screen, soft changing night lights, brilliant intercom,and we can add more cameras if we want. Great value for money."

TDV450 - Positives & Negatives

"I have never seen a product get 5 stars and no negatives on numerous websites, but this one did.
So it was very disappointing that the one I purchased lasted around 8 hours before the monitor refused to reconise the base unit.
I had expected top quality for this price. Upon looking for a replacement I realised that TOMY are the only maker I could see that has the Night Vision camera and I exchanged the unit with no problems in the shop.
The positives -
1) Good sized LCD screen
2) Good battery life so far
3) Great picture with the lights out
4) Nice touch with the soothing colour light effect
5) Camera unit wall mountable
6) Best on the market
7) Sound is very sensitive
8) Plug and play

The Negatives
1) Very expensive
2) Plastic feels cheap and nasty for the price
3) No docking station for the monitor
4) The camera lens angle is very limited
5) The swivel for the camera is extremely limited in its rotation and does not go sideways
6) The Adaptor cable for the camera unit is far to short
7) Unless you have a large piece of furniture close to the cot you will struggle to get complete coverage of the cot. With 'lie-ins' it is near impossible.
8) The gimmicks are rubbish
9) The menu button is incredibly small and hard to press without setting off another button
10) The menu or software is not designed well and hard to navigate.
11) A small noise is noticeable from the camera unit.

I would still recommend this. It has done wonders on our 9 month old while sleep training her.
Some other company needs to make a viable alternative with night vision and ask real parents what is needed for a great monitor."

"Bought my Son & Wife this present for their new baby. They are thoroughly delighted with the monitor the night light and exceptional photos that they can take of the baby when sleeping and of course the right temp of the room the base changes colours.

"We used to have a BT audio monitor with our first child, and were impressed with that until it stopped working with our second child. We opted for a Video monitor this time, and selected the Tomy one as other reviews were positive and the brand is geared towards child friendly products.
This is a well made item, the design, function and build quality are very high(good quality plastics). We have had no problems with the signal in any room. Setup is simply turning the units on. Good battery life in hand held unit. (just don't expect HD images, its a monitor, it allows you to see whats happening)"
