Not for Commuting Very slow bike. Pedal like crazy on gear six. My 1 hour 10 min commute is now 1 hr 30 mins 17 June 2015
Excellent bike, but the saddle is not at all comfortable. My only other minor quibble is that the tools provided do not fit the nuts on the saddle or the screws on the frame for attaching a water bottle or pump. 16 June 2015
Bike too cheap to be good I've bought this bike 4 weeks ago as I thought that a new bike for this price would be better than a 2nd hand bike. Unfortunately this is absolutely not the case. After only 4 days, the seat post bow down already after which I had to replace it. One week later, the left crank went loose and damaged the bottom bracket which I also had to replace. The parts on these bike are not of good quality so better spend a few extra quid for a more decent bike. 12 June 2015
The Bike is super slow however, its ok I was looking for a road bike but this one was what i expected. Sorry for the bad review but the bike is super slow. 09 June 2015
would recommend feels nice and solid to ride, 1st gear easy enough for the up hill and 6th gear fast enough for down hill. No spring clip on the rack at the back so you will need to get a couple of Bungy straps to secure a load. Over all a good value bike for the average rider to plod along on, I would recommend this bike for the price. 02 June 2015

Hi,

This bike should be compatible with a child's bike trailer, I would recommend checking the fitting instructions of the bike trailer to make sure.

Answer:
Hi,

I can advise that the handlebars are not adjustable. The easiest gear should be comparable to the middle chain ring on a mountain bike. It would be possible to change the seat.

I hope this helps

I was thinking of purchasing this bike but was wondering how much assembly was required?
Also what tools are required or are they included?

Answer:
Depending on how DIY you are, the bike is easy to assemble. However, fine adjustments of brakes and gears are needed, but youtube is a good source of info on how to get it done.

I assembled it at the back of an Argos store as I thought it was sold already assembled. This to say that the tools required are in the box but if you have better spanners, screwdrivers, etc, it won't hurt.

Replacement mud guard

1 year, 3 months ago
Bought this bike not to long ago, and I've managed to snap the front mudguard after dropping the bike accidentally. Would I be able to purchase the identical mudguard that originally came with the bike so it still looks standard?
Many thanks

And to anyone looking to purchase the bike, it's great value and works wonders for little treks back and forth!

I bought this bike today and have spent the last 45 minutes trying to figure out how to attach the handlebars/stem to the fork and one does simply not slide in the other. I have by now scratched off most of the paint on the bottomside of the stem, so clearly, it does not fit.
The instructions are vague and not helpful at all.

Does anyone know by any chance of some clearer instructions or maybe even a video so I can see what I am doing wrong?

Thanks!

Answer:
This bike is the worst thing I've ever bought. Talk about getting nowhere slow. The effort put in and distance covered ratio is dismal. I've switched back to the rusty bike I was planning to replace with this. This bike is absolute rubbish and this is the first time I've ever written a bad review for any Argos product. Thoroughly disappointed.

Answer:
Hi,

Hybrid bikes are designed for commuting about town but are also suitable for light off road use.

Tyres with tread suitable for on and off road use and a slightly more upright riding position designed for comfort are typical of a hybrid set up.

I hope this helps
