LEGO® Star Wars Imperial Star Destroyer - 75055. 4.6 5 31 31
Wow. Amazing set, full of detail and solid! I'm not sure where to start with this set, so I'm just going "brain dump" with the review. First, this set isn't for the faint of heart. I'd describe the build as time-consuming and more than challenging at times. Next, the level of detail is outstanding, and who can argue with six mini-figures, a hologram, and a "mouse" droid? The set even comes with a built in carrying handle, which I cannot overstate how useful it is when moving the set for any reason. The exterior is classic Imperial gray with eight synchronized rotating turrets, and a hidden compartment for the "extra" missiles on the back of the set. Speaking of the back, there's quite a bit of detail there as well, making this set a beauty from every angle. But wait, there's more! LEGO uses a clever design to allow the entire set to fold open, exposing the entire interior, which is equally detailed. Rotating seats, a map area, a hologram stand, a weapons storage area, and more than enough room for the mini-figures are just some of the things that I love about the set. What's not to love? Grab this set when you have about 6 or 7 hours to kill over a few days, and go to work. OVERALL EXCELLENT! 09 February 2015
Imperial Star Destroyer The Imperial Star Destroyer Is moderately challenging. This star wars set is a very rewarding build. It has a great design becoming a very stable build at completion. The mini figures are very impressive. I highly recommend this set to any Lego star wars fan of any age. 06 February 2015
The Best Stardestroyer Ever! When I received this set I was very happy. This set has done my Imperial Army well. The characters are really good, Vader is basically the same, but has the detailed legs, everyone else is really cool. I especially like the fact that they included Admiral Piett. The Stardestroyer itself is a very nice pieces. It has a good amount of space on the inside and is very detailed. I really like the Star chart table, and everything else on the inside. The outside is really cool because the cannons can all turn the same direction, without having to turn each individual one. I find this set a very good buy, and I highly recommend it. 04 February 2015
Capital Ships Rule I have a thing for big spaceships, so getting another crack at a Star Destroyer was a no-brainer for me. I hadn't worked on any previous Star Wars models of comparable scale and thoroughly enjoyed the build experience, the clever use of technic pieces and how it "folds" open for play. It's a sturdy model, one I'm happy to take off the shelf and let me kids play with. I bought a troop carrier to add a few extra troopers to the contingent too ;) The rotating turbo blasters are fun and don't really care much about "real" firing missiles, though their hidden storage compartment is also clever. One downside to the model is that the base of it is perfectly flat. I understand this from a build and cost perspective. But I would have really loved the bottom to look as good as the top so, instead of just sitting flat on a shelf, it has a bit more of a look when the kids are playing with it in the air (or on display). Maybe someone will come up with a custom bottom mod to build the hangar :) 20 January 2015
Nice Accurate Replica Good job, LEGO. You have created a movie accurate replica of the Star Destroyer. My only complaint is the lack of playability on the inside. The bridge takes up half of the ship's interior. Here are my pros and cons: Pros -The minifigures are awesome (a new Vader at last!) -Exterior functions -Stunning detail -Movie accurate interior and exterior -Palpatine hologram (soooo cool) Cons -Lack of interior playability (That is why I gave it 4/5 instead of 5/5) There is nothing else I don't like about this set - all in all a great buy. Thanks for reading my review! 19 January 2015
