LEGO® Architecture Trevi Fountain - 21020 4.6 5 20 20
Easy but very beautiful The building is rather easy to build. Doesn't take so much time. But the outcome is very very beautiful. I love it so much. 08 February 2015
Fun build painful water I got this for myself after a few months of debate. Opening up the box I was very glad I made the plunge (pun intended). This is not my first architecture build (Big Ben and Eiffel Tower) but it was the most challenging. The main problems for me came with constructing the water. The pieces were so tiny and the locations were extremely specific. I had to take a break after that section to let my fingers recover! The rest of the build was complex but easier on the fingers. I really enjoy how this look in a window or with light shining through. The clear blue bricks have a very nice effect. I kinda wish all my architecture kits were in scale with each other but they still look neat on a shelf together. 30 January 2015
Lovely Design This build nicely abstracts the many fine details of the original fountain. The designer did a brilliant job of translating the sense of the original into Lego style, naturally simplifying lines and evoking rather than mimicking the detail of the original. I especially liked the design of the horses and the way the sense of flowing water was created. This build took longer than expected, and the experience of reading details about the real fountain while adding on new elements enriched the process. This was my first architecture set and it's converted me to the series. 18 January 2015
my son who studied architecture in college and also in Italy loved it. He wishes someone would create the Coliseum 06 January 2015
Beautiful Build I received the Trevi Fountain set as a Christmas present and I am incredibly pleased with it. The build came together in about 3 and a half hours and the instructions were easy to follow. The build itself was very intricate, as are most of the larger architecture sets, because of all of the small pieces. However, as per Lego's suggestion, I separated the pieces by color and the task of sorting through all 731 pieces became much less daunting. Some parts of the build became a little repetitive but it was all worth it when the building finally came together. The build actually started with the base and water, which included many small bits, but the instructions did a very good job of leading me through it with minimal confusion. The main building came next, which was where it became repetitive, and finished with the rocks and the horses. If I have any complaints, it would be with the rocks and horses. This part of the build, as some other reviewers have pointed out, seemed a little flimsy, especially the horses, which fell apart several times as I tried to put them together. It tries to pack as much detail in as it can and still stay true to the scale and sacrifices some integrity to do so, which, in this case, is entirely forgivable. The final result is spectacular. I love this set and it looks great of my shelf next to the Farnsworth House and Falling Water. Enjoy and happy building! 27 December 2014
