Good telly Needed a bigger telly (Rugby World Cup's coming up!) with a Freeview HD tuner. Good telly at a keen price and easy to reserve and pickup from a local store But I haven't found how to switch it off yet...... 30 September 2014
Hittachi hxt12u great price and service from Argos easy connectivity and set up smart apps really good i player particularly good 30 September 2014
Hitachi This TV is pretty good, although some of the functionality leaves a bit to be desired. You cant watch a program and scroll through whats on next, without completely closing the screen, and not all features are available on internet settings. Sound is okay quality but tends to vibrate at higher levels. Great picture though and pretty fast response rate. 29 September 2014

Please can you advise if this TV can play through a series of jpeg files stored on a usb stick?

I had a problem with the TV keep on trying to set up through my blue ray player? which I didn't realise it was doing at first, so may be helpful to turn off your other devices whilst setting up the wireless connection....to prevent any confusion.

Answer:
further to posting the question, tried everything ,till finally i used the cable with usb connection and plugged that in the tv, and then, put the dongle in that, and it worked straight away,as there was no instructions i had put dongle straight into usb on the tv,thinking that the cable was just an extension lead for awkward usb positions.
i used bottom usb as others mentioned,so i dont know if coincidence or what!!, but up to switching off ,it worked for me.
GOOD LUCK.

When selecting a program from the program guide it gives you the option to "Set timer on event". What does this do?
Also what is the best option for extra speakers?

hitachi 42" smart tv

2 months, 2 weeks ago
HI I'm on my second tv this year(first one broke after 4 weeks). I'd like to know how to do a factory on my tv, at the moment if I don't turn it off at the plug it switches on at 3 am which gets a bit annoying. It has also started changing channels but still playing sound from the previous channel. Hope you can help if not its going back and I'll get a better quality tv.

i suggest that you really roam though all the options including the ones it should not be under. just done it with our tv (not hitachi) found it, did it and nothing happened. Really it's not your job. Spend a fortune ringing the number on the back of your tv, to argos customer services, or take the sob back! x

I have just purchased this tv along with the dongle, however I can not get it to connect to my wireless internet. The tv is picking up my witless network but when i type in my password it then won't connect. I can't connect it via the Ethernet cable as my tv is in the front room and router is upstairs, I'm lost as to what to do

I have read all the FAQs about connecting a sound bar.
Using red and white aux cables into headphone socket only gives sound out of one end of sound bar. So tried digital coax and no sound comes out sound bar. Please help. Any other ideas could this be a problem with the TV?

Answer:
Hi Debs,
In order to connect the product to a Wi-Fi network you will need to purchase the dongle. If however you have your router located near the television you can connect it directly to the TV using the LAN connection. With regards to Netflix the model does not support this service.
Best Regards
