short life tv When I bought this hitachi tv I was so happy that I got a bargain but after one month picture gone so I took back to Argos. They said screen damage from insid so its accidental damage & I have to pay for repair. I'm not happy with poor quality product because outside screen got few unnoticeable minor scratches but inside screen got damage some how. I didn't bother to repair & I would prefer to buy some other brand. 24 July 2014

Answer:
It has a USB port. Can be used to play media from a USB stick or to attach a WIFI dongle. You can also use the smart tv functions without a dongle by attaching it to your router with a cable (not included).

Hi Dave,
The TV has 2 USB ports. If you want to connect the TV to a wireless network to access the smarTVue portal you will need to the dongle that is associated with the product (cat reference 108/2216). Alternatively you can connect the TV to a router by the LAN connection on the back of the product.

Answer:
Yes the TV will function as a normal TV without connection to the internet - connection to internet is only required to use smart apps. You can use a Blu-Ray with it - that is your choice.

Answer:
Hi Peeky,
To watch the Freeview HD channels (normal TV) you need an aerial input.

The wi-fi dongle is required if you want to connect the TV to your wireless network and access the smarTVue portal which contains the BBC iPlayer app as well as other social networking apps.

Answer:
Hi Donna,
To access the smarTVue portal you can connect the TV to your broadband either through the wi-fi dongle or through the LAN connection on the back of the product (If your broadband router is close to the TV I would recommend this).

Unfortunately the Netflix app is not compatible with this product.

Answer:
Hi Danny,
This model does have a USB port that will allow you to connect either a USB drive or an external hard drive to view media. With regards to the external hard drive this must have an external power source.
