Thirty years after the events of Killzone 3, the world is a very different place with two rival factions, the Helghast and the Vektans, living side by side in a futuristic city divided by a vast wall. In the midst of it stands a Shadow Marshal, tasked with one mandate above all else: preserve the peace, no matter the cost.

The Next-Gen has arrived
For me, this is the start of the Next-Gen revolution, utilizing the PS4 touchpad and displaying the immersive world in lush 1080p graphics. Little touches like the lightbar on the controller changing colour to reflect your health rather than cluttering up the screen or playing audiologs through the controller's inbuilt speaker really add to the experience. Fun, pretty, little first person shooter.

Shiny! New! Average!
As one of the PS4's launch titles Killzone: Shadowfall does a decent job of showing what your new console is capable of. Graphically you can't really fault it, the engine does a great job of keeping up at frantic times, but some of the game design leaves a bad taste.
Step backwards into a river, you're dead. One level has you free-falling through spinning wheels. Clip one, you're dead. And so on. Decent enough, but I'd wait for the price to come down before splashing out.
