Customer reviews and ratings

Humax HDR-2000T Freeview HD Digital TV Recorder. 4.3 5 40 40
Does what it says on the tin!! Found it very easy to use 06 April 2014
Humax do it again: an outstanding product! We purchased this PVR for my 85 year old mother in-law who had previously struggled with a PVR from Sharp. The Humax unit has an extremely clear and simple EPG and getting to your recordings is also very easy as programmes are organised in "folders", making it easy to find what you're looking for. Image quality is also superb and the unit upscales to 1080p HD. The remote control can be programmed to control the TV as well. Overall, a brilliant product. 03 April 2014
Shop at ARGOS The HDR-2000 T, has every thing you would want from a PVR. Excellent picture, excellent guide which populates very quickly. The controls are simple enough IF you read the instructions. One problem is the aerial does not pass through the 2000t unless it is switched on and not in the standby state. Shop at Argos because my first 2000-t had a timing fault and there was absolutely no problem with getting an immediate replacement. 28 March 2014
Easy to use Digital TV Recorder Comes with clear instructions so simple to connect and set up. Recording a programme couldn't be easier, simply select the show in the guide and press record. You have the option to record one episode or the whole series. Usefully in the playback mode, you can stop watching a recording and then go back to it with the option to resume from where you left off. An excellent product. 19 March 2014
Humax 2000T Brought to replace unresponsive Sagemcom unit. Excellent customer service from Argos. Humax does what it claims and more. Easy to use, set up. Huge storage capacity. HD clarity the best. 11 March 2014

Answer:
Yes, you can watch a different channel.

You can also watch from a selection of channels while recording two channels. E.g. Record BBC1 and ITV1 and also watch BBC2 or ITV2.

Sometimes you can record 2 channels at the same time and watch another e.g. record BBC1 HD and ITV1 HD and watch any other. (This is because BBC1 HD and ITV1 HD broadcast on the same frequency and the HDR-2000T can then use just 1 tuner for both. This leaves you with a spare tuner to watch anything you want to watch.)

Answer:
Some differences are:

2000T the good:

HD channels
DNLA support
IPTV
iPlayer
Internet radio (mp3)
Youtube (not all videos supported)
Export/import functions
Fast populating epg (Plus no gaps if tuned to just 1 transmitter)
Lacks BST/GMT bugs!
Lacks late timer starts!

2000T the bad:

No front display
No second scart
No PIP
No slow motion
No manual bookmarks
No trim function
Currently no RF pass through in standby
Play list display fits just 5 items
Buggy 4:3 TV support
Usable but weaker tuners

am really interested in buying this product but can't make my mind up, because I don't understand what one of the reviews meant when they wrote "One problem is the aerial does not pass through the 2000t unless it is switched on and not in the standby state" Does that mean it can't receive a signal when in standby, and therefore won't record when in standby. I have a number of programmes that I want to record in the wee small hours. Would I have to leave my machine turned on? Thank you

Answer:
If you record using the timer then you'll be fine, as the Humax will switch itself on to record (then off when finished recording). Hope this helps. Steve.

Answer:
I can confirm that the HDR-2000T does record when in stand-by.
In fact if you decide to tune to more than 1 transmitter it will be more successful when in stand-by than when it is fully switched on.

Answer:
I have one of these and have no problem with RF pass through, My aerial gives a weak to medium signal strength, with excellent results on both the PVR and TV. Just connect aerial in to box then connect RF out to TV aerial in on back of TV and I have had no problems with TV signal whether box is on or just on standby

Answer:
This refers to the lack of the RF pass through feature when in stand-by. This feature has been otherwise available on new recorders since 1984.

If you wanted to use your TVs own tuner you would need an aerial splitter, or a signal booster with multiple outputs, or switch on the HDR-2000T.
