Good Buy Bought this at the same time as the Roger Black rower. Works well, bit of a quirky way to get the appropriate screen up but getting used to it. Picks up the heartbeat in seconds and the chest strap stays put (probably cos by belly keeps it in place nothing slips down that). The button is a pain to operate and is too deeply recessed. I also exercise with the Wii and this is useful doing that. I have to do gentle exercise (heart problem and age) This product keeps me on track and will warn if overdoing things. Excellent for the money. 02 April 2013

Aid Heart failure recovery managment I purchased the Polar FT2 to assist me in my recovery of bi-ventricular heart failure so I can monitor my heart rate in almost real-time and keep track of my hearts resting rate rate to gauge if I am improving from day to day or regressing. This requires the use of the chest strap to monitor heart rate, they only supply a medium sized chest strap which I had to extend to make comfortable. For my purposes I would have prefered a lowest BPM dispaly in addition to average and peak in the FILE display mode, I would also prefer a lowest BPM display and peak BPM display while actively recording heart rate in exercise mode. Display mode while in exercise mode is changed by bringing the wrist unit into close proximity to the chest strap transmitter which is detected and changes the display mode from heart rate to session duration and current time and back to heart rate on each beep. 11 January 2012
Simple and effective Very simple to use and gives you great information tailored to your age. You can always see what your heart rate is while you're exercising, and with a few clicks of the button, at the end you can see what your average, and maximum, heart rates were during your exercise session - very useful! 31 August 2011
