Decent for DIY

"As a Mechanical Engineer, I have used several hand grinders at my various places of work and found this particular grinder to be of great assistance during a recent light DIY task. The price of this unit is key when comparing its technical spec. The grinder would suit owners of a home machine shop or even small businesses who require the occassional use of such a tool and light home / vehicle DIY activities. 115mm discs are a standard and easy to obtain size. The unit is supplied with a grinding disc but you can obtain other accessories, grinding / polishing / deburring discs elsewhere. The stock photo supplied on the Argos website is similar to the actual unit supplied but is not identical. The operation of the grinder is standard by means of a switch which can be locked onto a constant 'on' position. The grinder which I received seemed a tad tricky (sticky) to switch on (especially with work gloves) but remained active until I wished to terminate the operation. I would advise you to use PPE with this machine (Suitable face mask, Eye protection and gloves) and if you haven't used a hand grinder it is indeed imperative that you learn how to use this tool safely to prevent injury to you and others. REMEMBER - Safety First! You can find UK safety advice for grinding on the internet."

Solid grinder - but fiddly switch

"Did what it said it would, but the on-off switch was extremely difficult to use when wearing gloves. Did the job I intended it to - but wouldn't buy the same model again. Very frustrating!!"

"Have used grinder many times now and it does the job brilliantly. Found switch bit awkward to operate for a start but once it had been used a few times it freed itself off and now moves with very little effort and is in a very good position on the handle better than the last grinder i used which had switch on the side of body, this is on the top of body exactly where your hands hold grinder when using it. Excellent product for the money."
