Don't buy for Trail/Fell running

"Bad design and poor performance. The LEDs mechanism to adjust the beam angle is weak which means if you running up the fells and rocks the beam moves up and down making it hard for the runner to see. Beam is not strong enough even on a night that the moon is out.
Buy something better to enjoy running and not thinking how your head torch is going to behave."

Sturdy piece of kit

"Bought this for my son for Cubs but am thinking of getting one for myself as well. Beam is excellent and what first struck me was how solid the torch is. Not too heavy but very well built. Very good value and worth every penny."

"Ease of use: Good. Light angle is fully adjustable and once you get used to it, the location of the switch OK
Comfort: Seems OK, the headband if fully adjustable and head buffer pad reasonable soft
Light output: Good.
Construction quality: OK apart from internal battery moulding area. This is poorly finished and an area of concern as to effective battery contact over time."

Just the job

"Bought this as an essential for my son for winter Scout camp. Unhappy with a previous purchase, I decided to pay a bit more for hopefully better quality and we are both very pleased with it. Unlike the previous one, it doesn't stick out too far, is easily adjustable to point down at the item you are looking at and not blind others and the on/off button does not accidentally get pressed whilst in the kit bag. Time will tell whether this one lasts more than a few weeks before falling apart. I chose one with AAA (rather than button) batteries so we can use it with re-chargeables."
