Designers at Argos > Kane Ikimotu
Kane learnt his craft working directly at the jeweller's bench combined with time spent on specialist courses at the Birmingham School of Jewellery.
Kane has a Polynesian and British heritage. As a child he grew up in New Zealand and the tiny island of Niue. He moved to England, his Great Grandfather's ancestral home, in 2003.
Polynesian people have always worked closely with nature. Understanding the environment and materials it provides. Kane has always loved to draw from as early an age can remember and remains influenced by the natural world and loves to reflect this in his designs:
'My designs are made using forging techniques to form and shape the metal. Each piece is left with the evidence of each hammer blow struck. This gives each piece it own unique characteristic.'
