Just pop into an Argos store for help and assistance if your product is damaged by accident or breaks down. From the moment you buy the plan, Argos Replacement Care can help.

What's included:

  • Damage caused by accidents; like snapped power cords, cracked screens and broken buttons.
  • Breakdowns that happen outside of the manufacturer's guarantee.

What's not included:

  • Repairs.
  • Deliberate damage.
  • Commercial use.
  • Cosmetic damage that doesn't stop the product from working.

General information:

For the full list of exclusions and restrictions, please see the terms and conditions available online, or in a leaflet in Argos stores. Your statutory rights will not be affected when you buy a plan. These include the right to claim a refund, repair, or replacement for up to six years (may be different in Scotland) if your electrical goods were not of satisfactory quality or fit for purpose when they were sold to you.

You can buy a plan at the point of purchase or within 45 days of buying them. If your item is replaced under the plan, the plan will end. Your plan can be cancelled at any time within 45 days of purchase. You will receive a full refund if you have not used any of the services under the plan. After the 45 days cancellation period you may terminate the plan at any time. If you have not received a replacement we'll refund the fee paid to you for the remaining full months of the plan.

is this instant replacement or do you send off for repair

I have looked into this for you and as the Up to 3yrs Replacement Product Care £40 - £49.99 is a replacement the item is not sent away for repair but replaced in store.

If there's a problem within the manufacturer's warranty period, how does it work?

If a product were to break down in the manufacturer's warranty period e.g. 1yr period and we get a replacement from argos, does the 3yr cover policy end or continue for the remaining 2yrs since the breakdown was still in the manufacturer's warranty period??? Or If a product were to break down in the manufacturer's warranty period e.g. 1yr period, are we meant to get it fixed from the manufacturer during that 1yr period and then the 3yr cover from argos will remain intact? because it would make no sense for the policy to end if the product breaks down during the manufacturer's warranty period becuase the manufacturer would repair that. the customer would end up buying the cover for no reason.

Having looked into this for you, I can confirm that if it breaks down during the manufacturers guarantee and needs to be replaced due to a breakdown, the plan will end as you will no longer have the product. You can either receive a full refund for the plan if this happens, or you can put the plan onto the new product, resetting the date so that you receive a full 3 years.

what happens if I need a replacement and item was brought whilst on offer

I have checked this for you and products are replaced on a like for like basis, so your item would be replaced with an item of similar make and specification. If this cannot be done (for example if these products are not sold anymore) then Argos vouchers would be issued instead, these are to the value that was paid for the item.
