Good shower but..

This does the job but ... the power is poor, I have long hair and it now takes me longer to both wet and rinse my hair than our 15yr+ Triton 6kw shower. I shower everyday but do not want my hair wet when I am not washing it. With the Triton I could lower the head on the riser and then angle the head down so the water was directed at my body only. With this shower the head is fixed in place so although I can lower it on the riser the water cannot be directed

Multifit

Booght this model to replace a Mira sport which had given 20 years service before failing. I thought that the 'multifit' would facilitate an easy switch but this did not prove to be the case. I had to re-arrange both electrical and water supply. Fortunately I had spare matching tiles so I was able to patch up . The casing of this unit is quite wide though so it would cover up some tile problems.

What electrical cable size does this shower require?

6mm or 10mm What is the maximum KW I can have with 6mm cable?

Hi, thank you for your question.

I have looked into your query and I am sorry to say that I am unable to advise you as to what electrical cable size the Mira Sport Multifit 9.0Kw Shower requires, this is something a qualified electrician will need to advise you on. I can tell you that this shower can take a cable between 6mm - 16mm.

Is this electric shower TANK FED o MAINS SUPPLY?

Is this electric shower TANK FED o MAINS SUPPLY? I need to get a TANK FED model (or is it straight forward to find someone to fit a T joint near tank for redirection of water supply?) - Is the latter option needlessly expensive - only reckon a bit more pressure would be good.

Is it suitable for combi boiler and is it twin feed?

Would like to know if this takes connections for both a hot and cold water pipe?

2 Answers

This product works from a cold mains feed only, it does not require a hot feed. More information on products and technologies can be found here http://www.argos.co.uk/static/ArgosPromo3/includeName/mira-shop-home.htm

If you are looking to maximise the flow from a combi boiler, then a mixer shower could be recommended http://www.argos.co.uk/product... 6205720 this does need a hot and cold feed.

SIngle feed - from cold mains only. You need appropriate water pressure for electric showers. Use a 'mixer' shower for hot and cold feed! Won't matter if you use a 'Combi Boiler' for that - except it might be a bit slow initially getting the shower to the correct temperature! More stable when running mixer showers off 'gravity feed' from 'header tanks'. (Though you may wish to ask a plumber!). Suggest you search the internet for fitting instructions of shower units - it's all there on the Web!!!
