Hi there,

It is possible to trim this door. I have since been in contact with our suppliers who have advised this should be cut using a mitre saw.

Thanks for using Argos Q&A.

Why can't the length, or height, be reduced?

The door in question is perfect in every respect for my requirement except the height; what is the specific reason that it can't be reduced by about 4cm? I ask because I am a competent engineer and most things are within my abilities.

I took mine completely apart by removing carefully every small screw in the bottom of the door. This allows the door to to be separated into single pieces by sliding the panels apart. Keep them in the correct order.

Using a very fine blade saw take off the amount you need to shorten the door. The plastic can be easily split if the saw is used without taking gentle cuts.

Re-assemble in the order they where originally connected and replace the tiny screws. DO NOT over-tighten as this also will cause damage. I took a 1/4 inch off mine without a problem.

Hi, thank you for your question.

I have looked into this for you and I can confirm that I have checked the manual and there is no reason given to why the height of the door cannot be altered. I can confirm that if you do alter the door and it then becomes faulty it would be exempt from the guarantee.
