Good sturdy chair.

Bought this chair to use at new PC desk and am not dissapointed. Price was good and the box was not too heavy just bulky. Easy and quick to put together and once up it is comfortable. Use a decent allen key to put the arms on though as the supplied one is made of chocolate and is not very good. Tilts quite a long way back and is adjustable up and down on gas strut. Needs a bit of time for the components of the gas strut to bed in and the tilt was very stiff when new but all has eased up and works very well now. Only thing missing is a better level of lumbar support, but sorted with a memory type pillow or cushions. Over all a good buy and would recommend to a friend.

does anyone else's chair tilt backwards when leaned into it?

I just bought and built my chair but when I lean back into it, it feels like the whole seat of the chair moves backwards too like it is going to snap off. Does anyone else's chair do this or have I not screwed something tight enough?

Hi there,

I have been in touch with the supplier and can confirm that this product is designed to tilt backwards.
If you believe there may be a fault with the product please return it back to store with proof of purchase for further assistance.

I hope this helps,
Thank you for using Argos Q&A

On the tilt handle, you should be able to push the handle inwards which locks in and stops it tilting backwards.
Just like a bolt being bolted in.
Hope this helps.....

Yes, mine actually feels a bit like that too, however it's not too bad. I don't think it would ever snap, though. Make sure that all the screws are tight.

How do I get the gas cylinder to "fire"

I've assembled the chair, but the gas cylinder doesn't seem to have set off, as such the chair is astonishingly low and basically useless - how can I get it to activate so I can see the world from more than 3 feet off the ground? Cheers
