Wanted a battery lawn mower as I find our electric one heavy and cumbersome Was going to buy a far more expensive one ... Didn't have money so got this one Well I can't compare with dearest model but sure not much could be better than this one It charges It cuts It cuts at different levels It collects grass Much lighter than old machine It makes lines in the grass I would recommend this highly

In a word excellent.

By today's standard I have a reasonable grass area, because of the recent wet weather, it had got rather long. I needed two cuts to get it down to my preferred height. Managed that on a single charge. Not having to think of trailing electric cables is a great bonus.

Lead free mower

Needed new mower as old one gave up ghost. Did not want to have to plug in leads and ext. cables to attach to clunky and heavy mower any more. This new one is just great. Light and easy to use. Battery does the front garden, the strip on the pavement and the back garden in one go with plenty of charge left. Was a bit difficult for me to assemble as did not have quite enough strength in my hands but a neighbour helped and very quickly put it together for me. Very pleased with product.

Should I buy the 24V or the 36V model?

I have a reasonably big lawn and wondered whether it was worth paying the extra for the 36V version of the mower or if the 24V is more than adequate

Good question. I have just posted something simlar on the other model page.

Note the 24v one has a brushless motor and as such should be more efficient than the 36v brushed one i.e. the battery should last longer. Blade size of the 24v model is also only 1cm smaller.

According to the manual the 36v motor spins the blade at 3800RPM over 3400RPM of the brushless 24v model.

The handle trigger on the 24v is also much better than the one on the 36v one, which feels cheap and nasty and is hard to keep pulled on.

Hi AnnG,

It difficult to advise the best solution without knowing what size your lawn is.
The 36V is recommended for up to 250m2 (10 paces by 25 paces)
The 24V is recommended for up to 200m2 (10 paces by 20 paces)

The 36V has a roller for the striped effect the 24V does not.
If you are concerned about the area of your lawn there is also the option of the 24V with 2 batteries and a cordless trimmer.
1 battery can be charged while using the other this greatly extends the cutting area from the given 400m2 on 2 batteries.

Hope this helps.

How well does it fold up for storage?

I've only got a small (3x4ft) shed, so I'm wondering if this folds up for storage, or if it has to be hung from the wall with the handles intact.

1 Answer

The top handles fold over it is within this cube. 85cm x 64cm x 35cm.
Grasbox and other items in your garage can also fit in this cube with the product. It is a compact mower however the lower handles don't fold.
Hope this helps.

does this mower cut wet grass?

1 Answer

Hi Mike,

The instructions state not to be used on wet grass.
The main reason to not cut wet grass with any lawnmower is the safety concerns. Any slight slope and a slip on wet grass could be dangerous. Wet grass is also heavier and stickier than dry grass, it therefore doesn't collect very well or cut very well. It also tends to stick to wheels and rollers.
Unless a lawnmower clearly advertises "designed for cutting wet grass" I wouldn't advise it.
Hope this helps.
