No Filter

I unpacked the fryer but did not use it because having read the instructions I discovered that it can only be used with the lid off which creates fatty steam and makes a terrible mess as i learned to my cost with a previous fryer.

Does the job simply and perfectly

We had several deep fat fryers more expensive than this and with fancy features. On one the basket broke, its replacement died in the middle of cooking and the last one leaked all over the counter after four months. This one is simple to use and has big capacity. All we need.

Why do you say the fryer cannot be used with the lid on

I know the manufacturer says not to use with the lid on when cooking, but can you please tell me why the lid has a viewing window in it. And what possible reason is there for having a permanent cleanable filter in the lid if is never going to be used when cooking. I thought the whole point of having a lid on a frier was for safety, so that the oil wouldn't splash you. I feel that this matter should be taken up with the manufacturer and a definitive answer given.

Hi, thank you for your question.

I have spoken to our buyers and they confirm that it is Argos policy to advise using without lid due to possibility of moisture accumulating on the lid and making the oil bubble up.

Hi,

The advice from the suppliers is not to use the lid of the Cookworks Professional Deep Fat Fryer - Stainless Steel when cooking food. The lid can be used to heat up the oil prior to frying.
