Can i use lard instead of oil?

1 Answer

Hi, thank you for your question.

I have checked the product manual and I can confirm you should use only a good quality vegetable oil or all purpose shortening for deep drying. Deep frying foods in butter, margarine, olive oil or animal fat is not recommended because of lower smoking temperatures.

Thank you for using Argos Q & A.

In the short description it says 0.5 L of oil but in the detailed description it says 1.5L of oil. which one is right?

Not sure when the question was asked and answered but your page still says 0.5 l in the main description, almost bought this item because I want something that holds less than 1 litre, luckily checked this answer to find I would have had to return the item as the description is incorrect, surely once someone pointed out there was a discrepancy the site should have been changed so that both figures matched????

Hi Indu,

Thank you for the question.

I have looked into this and I can confirm that you need to use between 1.3 and 1.5 litres of oil.

Tank you for using Q&A.
