Seems to work OK but eats batteries

I've had it for less than 3 weeks & not yet put it to the use I bought it for, but have tested its features. It does seem to record voices OK & record from FM radio transmission to a good quality. But that's a very limited test. However it's been switched off for most of the time & has completely drained the batteries. So I'm now concerned it may now let me down during the 3 consecutive full days of recording I bought it for. If so it will be returned as not fit for purpose.

I bought this model as the spec stated it had the transcription software included. It does not. Having recorded several hours of information I find that I have to now type it all out. Really not happy. I will be returning the item.

Ask a question

Hi Mark

I can confirm this item does support voice activation. From the instruction manual :

When voice-activated recording is enabled, recording will start when you begin speaking. When you stop speaking, the device will automatically pause recording after three seconds of silence, and resume only when you begin speaking again.

I hope this helps

I have checked the instructional manual and the recordings on the Philips DVT2000 Digital Voice Tracer can be transferred onto your computer and then recorded onto a CD.

Thank you for using Question and Answer.

I have looked into this for you and I can confirm that you can record with this if it was in a handbag or pocket, however if you are not using a mic then sounds recorded may be distorted

Thank you for using Argos Q&A
