Payphone works everywhere except Scottish Glens!

Tt's a great payphone, simple to set up and use, however, beware if you live in an isolated community in the Scottish glens, as BT have stretched their services so thin, that there may not be enough power in the system to power up and work this phone.

Thanks for using Argos Q&A.

How exactly does this work?

I don't understand the payment side of this phone. Do I pay for my call by putting coins in the phone the same as I would if using a payphone on the street? Do I not have a bill from a provider?

This phone works pretty much the same as any other phone, both payphone on the street, where you put your coins in, and also the same as a normal domestic telephone. To use this phone, you still need an active line and line rental. i.e. BT, any calls made via your telephone line by this phone will be billed to that line, and you still pay your line rental.. the idea behind this is when your phone bill arrives you empty the phone and use that to pay your bill.

Thank you for your question.

I can confirm that the Solitaire 2000 Payphone - White uses a coin before call payment system. You will need to put in the coins before you make an outbound call and this phone does not work off a billing service.
